The process of obtaining work permits is under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of the Interior of Croatia (MUP). Depending on the company’s headquarters or the planned place of residence of the worker, you can expect a work permit within 15 days, although the process can sometimes take up to 120 days.
Given the increasing number of applications for hiring foreign workers each year, which puts pressure on state institutions, our recommendation is to plan recruitment 9 to 12 months before you actually need a foreign worker.
For nationals of third countries such as the Philippines, Nepal, and India, a work permit alone is not enough for entry. They also need to obtain an entry visa. Depending on the country of origin, the visa process for entry into Croatia may take up to 90 days.
Several legal requirements must be met according to the Foreigners Act, handled by the Employment Service (HZZ), the Ministry of the Interior (MUP), and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Schedule a meeting with our sales team, who will explain all the steps and conditions in detail.
