How long does it take to get a work permit?

The process of obtaining work permits is within the competence of the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Croatia and depending on the company headquarters or the planned place of residence of the worker, you can expect a work permit within 15 days but it is possible that this process takes up to 120 days. Agency has very little control of the duration.

How far in advance do I have to start the process of hiring foreign workers?

Given the amount of employment requirements for foreign workers that increases every year and added pressure on the government officials, our recommendation is to plan hiring between 9 and 12 months before you have a real need for a foreign worker.

Why do foreign workers need a visa to enter Croatia?

For nationals of third countries such as the Philippines, Nepal and India, not only a work permit is sufficient for their arrival, but it is necessary to obtain an entry visa. Depending on where the workers come from, the process of obtaining a visa to enter the Republic of Croatia can take up to 90 days.

What are the first steps to take when I decide to hire foreign workers?

It is necessary to fulfill several requirements of the Law on Foreigners, which are implemented by the Croatian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
